Taking note of the things you are doing, feeling, experiencing is great feedback. It’s data you can use to make changes. Sometimes we just do things without thought and this is worrying because it might be contributing to (or straight up causing) our biggest problems. I’ve found that tracking my habits, writing in a journal, checking my stats on my activity watch. or sometimes tracking my food intake, makes a world of difference in understanding myself and negative patterns.
Sometimes, the answers are right in front of you, if only you took a look!
Here are some ideas of things that might be worth tracking or noticing each week or month, to help you on the road to self-awareness, self-development, and problem-solving.
Things worth tracking for health
- Your menstrual cycle and which phase you’re in and how it affects you (mood, appetite, sleep, energy, workouts, libido, brain fog etc)
- Steps you get in a month (great to see in increase with intention – I saw a 110,000 increase by making sure I walk at lunch times now that I work from home!)
- Quality of sleep and its affect
- What you’re eating
- How foods affect your stomach, mood, sleep, etc.
- Your fasting times and affect – there’s this great app called Forza Fasting App you could use
- Your fruit and veg intake each day (my husband was eating so much fruit he triggered diabetes checks!)

Things worth tracking for growth & success
- How often you are sitting down to write and what gets done
- How often you post on social media about your business, art, hobby, writing, etc
- How you respond to setbacks

Things worth tracking for self-awareness & better choices
- How much money you spend on:
- clothes each month or quarter
- books each month or quarter
- takeaways each month
- alcohol each week & month
- hobby items / resources
- night’s out or entertainment
- subscriptions
- Where, how, why you snapped, shouted, got easily angry or upset (highlights emotional triggers for you)

How to track
- Habit tracker sheets
- Daily, monthly, yearly planner
- Journaling everyday (physical journal)
- Taking notes on your phone
