Writing Tips

Why I should write today! (Motivation for writers)

Today I wanted to bring you some quickfire motivation to get writing. Some of these are silly or funny, but ALL of them are subjective. Don’t take them to be accusatory or rude!

Why I should write today (and so should you!):

  1. Because I want to, deep down, I’m just overthinking it
  2. Because I will never be a successful writer who can make a living on my writing if I don’t practice and write
  3. Because I didn’t write yesterday
  4. Because I have the time to write (and aren’t I always wishing I had time to write?)
  5. Because I have so many story ideas that I need to start turning into books
  6. Because the world is waiting to read what I have to say
  7. Because my characters will be angry at me if I don’t
  8. Because I can’t find a book I like, therefore I must write one
  9. Because my ideas are cool and I need to work on them
  10. Because it’s the only way I will get better
  11. Because it’s fun
  12. Because every sentence I write can’t be utter crap
  13. Because the act of writing is an act of discovery
  14. Because I like writing
  15. Because I’m good at it
  16. Because the people who love me want to see me succeed at my dream
  17. Because I just read a bad book and I think I can do better 😉
  18. Because it’s a challenge and I like challenges
  19. Because I want to see if I can do it
  20. Because I want to prove my fears and self-doubt wrong
  21. Because I know I can write a good story
  22. Because people want to read my work
  23. Because of my future fans
  24. Because my children want their mother to succeed
  25. Because I’m tired of starting and never finishing
  26. Because I’ve read lots of amazing books and I know what makes a story work
  27. Because I’m bored
  28. Because I want/need to escape from reality for a while
  29. Because I need to prove my haters wrong
  30. Because younger me wants me to make it

Happy writing!

Sincerely,

S. xx
